Is Your Body Missing Vitamin D? Here Is What You Need To Know

Thanks to a medical check up I happen to take every 3 months I discovered the lack of Vitamin D in my body. I encourage you to take out blood tests periodically; trust me, it is the best way for you to know what is going on with your overall health.

So, why is it important to know this info?

Due to the fact that we might be developing health issues and being unaware of it.

In my personal experience, I stared with having joint pain after a workout. At first I thought it was because I was over exercising, however after taking vitamin D prescribed by my doctor, everything changed. I’m not longer feeling joint pain and my overall energy shifted from 50 to 100%

According to Mayo clinic, this is why we need Vitamin in our bodies:

Vitamin D is necessary for building and maintaining healthy bones. That’s because calcium, the primary component of bone, can only be absorbed by your body when vitamin D is present. Your body makes vitamin D when direct sunlight converts a chemical in your skin into an active form of the vitamin (calciferol).

It is important to know that Vitamin D isn’t found in many foods, however you can get it from fortified milk, fortified cereal, and fatty fish such as salmon, mackerel and sardines.

Summer is almost coming to an end so we’d better start getting this important vitamin from the sun beams as much as possible. Remember, it is always recommendable to wear sunscreen whenever having a sun bath. The duration should be 10-15 minutes, exposing your skin around midday.
