How Should I Overcome Obstacles To Achieve My Goals?

 

New Year, new goals but most importantly, how can we achieve them?

 

Most of the time we seem to think our dreams dry up when we become adults, parents or professionals, involving ourselves in activities that enjoy but haven’t found the time to do for years. Well, I am telling you right now, this is your sign to start doing those things again. This will help to bring a sense of life back to you and put you on the path to success in any area you might find yourself in.

 

So, how should we start?

 

THE FIRST STEP

Make a list and see if there’s something that’s keeping you from feeling free and alive. Are irrational thoughts processes holding you back? Unspoken words, unfinished projects, conversations? Skeletons in our closets can draw us away from what’s important.

 

KEEP A JOURNAL

The best thing anyone can do is putting all their dreams and thoughts in a journal. Just let go and write about what you truly want. Visualizing your dreams is imperative to achieving them. Now, read them at loud on a free moment in your day, speak to yourself, affirm, breath and focus on these particular goals you are trying to achieve.

 

PLEASE, AVOID PROCRASTINATION

One of the best piece of advice I have been following over the last couple of years. #truefact

There is nothing more detrimental than not having a regular routine and because of it, not getting things done. I am sure that watching t.v. or scrolling your phone can be really nice but if we don’t plan our day, it is likely we end up feeling unproductive and discouraged. The worse thing? It can get us into a behavior pattern and with that, a daily routine.

 

STOP THINKING, START DOING

It is very nice to think about what we want but we can’t live our lives just by thinking or overthinking! That is NOT what we want. So, here is the thing, we need to start planning how to start doing the things you want to achieve. Think in plan A, B and C. There are not foolish thoughts, it would be foolish if you didn’t do anything to start taking action.

 

FOLLOW YOUR HEART

I’m sure you have heard the famous quote: “follow your hunch”, not for nothing is a popular one and in fact, personally, I have come to realize that it is very true. Sometimes we find ourselves looking for answers in people or places, where in fact, the sign you are looking for is inside your heart. Just take the time to listen carefully, too much noise distracts us from following the right path. If you can and you are open to new things, try to meditate. Meditation is a very good tool to start focusing on your inner peace, health and purpose.

 

Wherever there is an obstacle, simply create a plan to drive around it or right through it. We often make obstacles larger than they are which can lead to the failure of our dreams. Identify what’s stopping you from asking friends for help. Be determined and dedicated in following through.

 

NEVER COMPARE YOURSELF TO OTHERS

It is such a common thing to say this but really, be yourself, find your purpose, your talents, and share them with the world, by doing this, you will become the inspiring force that motivates those around you.

We are unique, beautiful and powerful.. just be!
